Richard M. Pilarski

Sept. 12, 1927 - Aug. 7, 2000

Richard M. Pilarski, 72, of White Maple Court, South Bend, Ind., died at 11:15 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 7, in Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Sept. 12, 1927, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Pilarski retired in 1976 from the O'Brien Paint Company, and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

On Sept. 11, 1954, in LaPorte, Ind., he married Martha Russ, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Paula Pilarski of Indianapolis, Ind.; three sons, Paul (Diana) Pilarski of Carmel, Ind., Michael (Nancy) Pilarski and Richard (Erin) Pilarski, both of South Bend; eight grandchildren, Jessica Pilarski, Adrienne Rush and Andrew Rush, all of Carmel, Melissa Pilarski, Kristen Pilarski, Alex Cappelletti, Charles Taylor, Katelyn Pilarski, all of South Bend; three sisters, Helen Frame, Agnes Brainerd and Diane Haley, all of South Bend; and by a brother, Marion Pilarski of South Bend.

Family and friends called from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary was said at 4 p.m.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 10, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with burial to follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
