Walter Podemski: (South Bend Tribune 12/10/1966)


Walter Podemski, 53, of 229 E. Victoria St., died at 5 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was an employee of the Bendix Corp. He was born August 21, 1913, in Chesterton. He was married Feb. 22, 1941, in St. Stanislaus Church, to Alice Nadolny, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Walter, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Janice Borton, South Bend, and Miss Susan Podemski, at home; one grandchild, one brother, Joseph, South Bend; and five sisters, Mrs. Verna Kosinski, Mrs. Martha Shepherd and Mrs. Cecelia Pietrzak, all of South Bend, and Mrs. Victoria Bradburn, and Mrs. Francis Maning, both of California. Friends mays call after 3 p.m. Sunday at the St. Joseph Funeral Home. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew’s Cathedral. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Arnold J. Wibbert, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1167, M.R. Falcons Nest 4, Holy Name Society of St. Matthew’s Co-Cathedral. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
