WALKERTON - Darlene G. Pontius, 63, of 908 Georgia St., died at 5:05 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after an illness. Mrs. Pontius was a cook and a waitress at Welco Restaurant. She was born Aug. 19, 1931, in Plymouth, and was a lifelong area resident.

On April 19, 1947, in Plymouth, as Darlene G. Seider, she married Lawrence E. Pontius. He survives with two daughters, Linda Creech of Osceola, and Diana Relos of Plymouth; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a brother, Darrell Seider of Bradington, Fla. She was a member of Walkerton Women's Business Club and Walkerton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today in Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home and one hour before services Tuesday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Walkerton Emergency Medical Service.
