Adele M. Popielski

Nov. 9,1925 - March 22, 2000

Adele Marie Popielski, 74, of South 29th Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, March 22.

She was born on Nov. 9, 1925, in South Bend, to the late Matthew (Mack) Chrobot and Harriet (Hattie) Ciesolka. On May 13, 1950, she married Harry H. Popielski, who preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1971.

Mrs. Popielski was employed by the Department of Public Welfare from 1944- 1950, Tepe's Department Store during the Christmas season, 1968, 1969, & 1970; Weisberger Paper Company from 1973-1974, Emmco Insurance Company from 1974-1975, Associates of North America from 1977-1984, and Real Services, Meals on Wheels from 1984-1996. Mrs. Popielski was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church, and a 1944, St. Joseph's Academy graduate.

She is survived by a daughter, Marsha (Ken) Marosz of Granger, Ind.; two sons, Tom (Judi) Popielski of Arlington, Texas, and Jeffrey (Joan) Popielski of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren, Matthew R. Marosz of Granger, Christopher M. Popielski of Arlington, Brian J. and Kali J. Popielski of Washington, D.C.; and by a brother, Eugene M. (Gertrude) Chrobot of South Bend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Monday, March 27, in St. Hedwig Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m., on Sunday, March 26, in the KANIEWSKI Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m., in the funeral home.
