Helen G. Popiolek

Helen Popiolek, 95, of Lincoln Way West, South Bend IN, died at 7:04am on Thursday, January 9, in Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, South Bend.  Miss Popiolek retired in 1967 as a seamstress from Enro Shirt Factory after several years of employment.

 

She was born to Stella (Schoen) and Alexander Popiolek on December 23, 1903,in South Bend, and was a lifelong resident, Miss Popiolek was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Hattie Jarvis, Theresa Gajewski, Mary Badur-Goralski, Tillie Czolgosz and Stella Horvath; and by two brothers, Joseph and Casimir Popiolek.

 

She is survived by two sisters, Martha Popiolek and Angeline Popiolek, both of South Bend; and by several nieces and a nephew.  Miss Popiolek belonged to St Stanislaus Catholic Parish.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Monday, January 11, in St Stanislaus Catholic Church, South Bend.  Interment will follow in St Joseph Polish Roman Catholic Cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 3 to 8pm on Sunday, January 10, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish Rosary will be recited at 7pm.
