Morris Ira Porter

May 11, 1902August 16, 1963

 

Funeral services for Morris Ira Porter, 61, of 2018 Inglewood Place, who was found dead Friday in an apartment he had rented at the Pick Oliver Hotel, will be at 2pm Monday at the Welsheimer Funeral Home, where friends may call after 2pm today.

 

Rev. Walter D. Oberholtzer of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be David, Kenneth and James Inwood, Eugene Bocche, Donald Long and Richard Mendenhall.

 

Mr. Porter was born May 11, 1902, in Gouverneur NY and came to South Bend five years ago from Milwaukee.  On November 29, 1944, in St Paul MN, he was married to Orlain C. Olson.  She survives.  Also surviving are his daughter, Rosemary, at home; three brothers, Kenneth Porter, New York City, Edward Porter, Minneapolis and Frank Porter, Schnectady NY; and two sisters, Mrs. Ivan Conner, Denver, and Mrs. Leon Badcock, Gouverneur NY. 

 

He was an Air Force Major during WW II and was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
