Andrew J. Potoczky

SOUTH BEND - Andrew J. Potoczky, 102, of Fountainview Place, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, in Fountainview Place.

Mr. Potoczky taught barber school in the 1930s and owned and operated the South Bend Barber Supply.

He was born on March 11, 1895, in Janok, Hungary, and had lived in South Bend, Ind., since 1938, coming from Toledo, Ohio.

In 1919 he married Margaret Toth, who preceded him in death. In October 1943 he married Lucy Dolph, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a son, Andy Potoczky in 1989. He is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Allison of Denton, Texas; a son, Joseph Potoczky of Osceola, Ind.; five grandchildren, Dennis Potoczky, Steven Potoczky, Margaret Richards, Kalista Allison and Robert Allison; step-grandchildren include Judy Harroff, Carol Jordan and Linda Kunard; numerous great- and step-grandchildren; and by several great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Potoczky was a member of the William Penn Association and the Barber's Union.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.
