GRANGER - Bertie V. Potter, 86, of
Auten Road, died Saturday in her home of natural causes. Mrs.
Potter was born Nov. 20, 1908, in Crab Orchard, Tenn., and lived
in Granger since 1948.
On Jan. 28, 1928, in Medina, Ohio, as Bertie
V. Walker, she married Virgil A. Potter. He died April 23,
1974. She is survived by two daughters, Jean E. Darragh of
Monterey, Calif., and Wilda Knipple of Sarasota, Fla.; two
sons, Winston L. of Ravenna, Ohio, and Thomas J. of South Bend;
11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister,
Mildred Pierce of Mooresville, Ind. A son, James C., died June 5,
1982.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in
Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may
call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial
contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
