John Poturalski, aged 77, of rural route No. 2, box 208, South Bend, died at 12:10 o’clock Sunday morning in his home after two years’ illness. Born in Poland May 27, 1859, he came here from that country 53 years ago. He was married here in 1885 to Josephine Pawlak, who survives: Also surviving are eight children, Mrs. Frances Gin?er and Mrs. Carrie Rozmarynowska and Roman, Michael, Paul and James Poturalski, all of South Bend; Mrs. Victoria Nowak, of New Carlisle, this county, and Mrs. Mary Kowalewska, of North Liberty, this county, two brothers, Frank, in Poland and Peter, of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Mary Bernacka, of Chicago; 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed in the home.
The funeral will take place at 9 o’clock Wednesday morning from St. Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic church in Terre Coupe, this county, with Rev. John Wroblewski, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Polish cemetery.
