C. Orretta Pozzi, 92, formerly of West Broadway in Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after a lengthy illness at 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, in St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka.

 

Orretta was born on Oct. 25, 1905, in Mishawaka, to James and Catherine (Smith) Graham, both of whom have preceded her in death.

 

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Maurice T. Pozzi, whom she had married on Oct. 6, 1931; a grandson, James A. Pozzi; a sister, Vinnie Graham Ransberger; and by a brother, Clyde Graham.

 

Orretta is survived by a son, M. Thomas Pozzi, Jr., and his wife Joan of Mishawaka; a granddaughter, Maria Pozzi, and a grandson, Matthew Pozzi, both of Mishawaka.

 

Orretta was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, a past president of the Deanery Council of Catholic Women, past president of the St. Monica Rosary Society, a member of the South Bend Padre Pio Prayer Group, the National Society of Catholic Foresters, the Daughters of Isabella, the St. Joseph Church Harvest House, the Auxiliary of St. Joseph Hospital of Mishawaka, first treasurer of the St. Joseph County Literacy Group, and was a member of the Beiger Heritage Corporation.

 

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, where a wake service will be held at 3:45 p.m.

 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Monica Church at 10 a.m. on Thursday, with Fr. William Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Mishawaka.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Monica Church.
