SOUTH BEND - Bernice Prentkowski, 91, of St. Paul's Health Care Center, died at 5:25 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, in the health care center.

Mrs. Prentkowski was born, March 28, 1905, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. On June 29, 1925, in South Bend, as Bernice Wisniewski, she married William Prentkowski, who preceded her in death on June 28, 1982.

She is survived by a son, Leonard Prentkowski of South Bend; four grandchildren, Cindy Glon of Mishawaka, Ind., David Prentkowski of Granger, Ind., Sue Holloway of Denver, Colo.; Ann Ketola of Crystal Falls, Mich; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by seven brothers, two sisters, and a son, Harry Prentkowski, who died on May 4, 1935, at the age of eight.

Services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7, in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m., today, at the St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Prentkowski was a member of the Grandmothers Club, an auxiliary member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 3194. She was also a member of the Rosary Sodality, Sisters Auxiliary, and Harvest House, all of the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Adalbert's Restoration Fund.
