MISHAWAKA - Scott Pressel, 43, of Merritt Island FL, formerly of Mishawaka, IN, passed away Sunday in his home. Scott was born in Valparaiso, IN, on August 5, 1966, to Mary Ann and Phill Pressel. He moved to Mishawaka with his family in 1968, and resided there until he moved to Merritt Island, FL, in 2004. He was preceded in death by his fathe,r Phill, on October 14, 2009. He is survived by his daughters, Crystal Pressel of St. Augustine, FL, and Jeni Loar of Elkhart, IN. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Daeshawn and Aisha of St. Augustine, FL, and one on-the-way; his mother, Mary Ann Pressel, and brother, Rick Pressel, both of Merritt Island, FL; his sister, Vicki (Bob) Jolliff of Mishawaka; the love of his life and best friend, Cindee; and his special "son," Eric Beckham of Mishawaka; and many nieces and nephews. Scott was the office manager of Clearlake Pines Apartments, Cocoa, FL, where he resided with Cindee and his special cat, "Starr." He was loved by all. Scott had a special way with people. He loved to be loved and returned it. He always had a joke or something funny to share. He adored his grandchildren and was very proud of his children. He has touched a lot of people in his short life, especially the people he used to be friends with when he was a child that he has reconnected with on Facebook. He is now with his father, whom he loved very much, watching over his entire family. The funeral will be on March 27, 2010, at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 1940 N. Courtenay Pky., at 12 noon in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, we have set up an account for his grandchildren's education at Notre Dame Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 7878, Notre Dame, IN, 46556. Please make checks payable to Mary Ann Pressel with "Donation" in the memo. There will be no services at the funeral home. Cremation will take place. We will be having a "celebration of life" for Phill and Scott sometime in June in Mishawaka, IN. More information to follow.
