Charles C. "Chuck" Prestin,
57, of U.S. 20 in New Carlisle, Ind., passed away of natural
causes on Monday, Dec. 18, in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Prestin was
born Aug. 17, 1943, in South Bend, Ind., to the late Clayton and
Inez (Keen) Prestin. He was the general manager of Dye
Mechanical, Inc., in LaPorte, Ind. On Oct. 2, 1980, he married
Donna DeMeyer, who survives. Also surviving is a son,
Bradley (Bonnie) Prestin of South Bend; a stepdaughter, Meagen Ginter
of New Carlisle; a stepson, Todd (Lisa) DeMeyer of New Carlisle;
grandchildren, Tyler and Lauren Prestin, Elizabeth and Alexis
DeMeyer, and Austin and Connor Ginter; and a sister,
Thresa (Don) Peters of Hanna, Ind. Mr. Prestin was a
former member of the Ardmore Lions Club, an avid NASCAR racing
fan, enjoyed rodeos, his truck, and working in the yard.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. (EST) Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000 in the KANIEWSKI Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, Ind. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. (EST) Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, with burial to follow at the New Carlisle Cemetery.
