Anne S. Primus

SOUTH BEND - Anne Spector Primus, formerly of South Bend, died peacefully at home in Connecticut on Tuesday, January 5th. Mrs. Primus was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1922. She was the daughter of Ida Bendja Spector and Harry Spector. She graduated from Hyde Park High School. Anne married Norman Primus on March 4, 1945, in Chicago. They have had a loving marriage for over 64 years. Mrs. Primus also leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Romana Primus, formerly of South Bend, IN; and a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Jeff Cohen of Albany, NY. Mrs. Primus was a legal secretary at the start of her career. Her last position was as a paralegal for Schering-Plough Corporation in New Jersey. In the 1980s, the Primuses moved to South Bend where Mrs. Primus became active at Temple Beth El, and served as a docent at the Snite Art Museum. She leaves six grandchildren, Richard Primus (Eve) of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Ida Gorenburg (Dmitry) of Needham, MA, Lisa Minsky-Primus (Yaron) of New York, NY, Daniel Cohen (Mara) of Denver, CO, Aryeh Primus of New York, NY, and Michael Cohen (Shulamit) of Pittsburgh, PA. She will also be missed by 11 great-grandchildren, Jacob Gorenburg, Zev Minsky, Eva Gorenburg, Esther Hinda Cohen, Nava Minsky, Eli Cohen, Tova Cohen, Sigal Minsky, Shalva Cohen, Jessica Primus and Willa Cohen. Services were held in New London, CT, at noon on Thursday, January 7th. The family will sit shiva at the Primus residence at 136 Gardner Ave. in New London, CT 06320.
