SOUTH BEND - Robert G. Pugh, 65, died Monday in Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughters, Annie Pugh of South Bend and Sherri Wotring and Amy Salyer both of Mishawaka; two sons, David Pugh of South Bend and Todd Swihart of Elkhart; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and brothers, Mike Pugh of South Bend and James Pugh of Buchanan.

 

Robert requested that there be no visitation or service. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, South Bend, is assisting the family with arrangements. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society or to River Bend Cancer Services.

MISHAWAKA - Robert G. Pugh, 65, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 8:53 PM Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, in Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with leukemia. Robert was a diesel mechanic for years at Michiana Mack in Mishawaka and then for Himco in Elkhart. He was born on August 29, 1942, in South Bend, IN, to James H. and Violet (Stanley) Pugh, and was a lifelong resident.

 

On November 8, 2003, in Mishawaka, IN, he married Judy (Swartzell) Pugh, who survives. Robert is also survived by three daughters, Annie (Chris Hessling) Pugh of South Bend, Sherri Wotring and Amy Salyer, both of Mishawaka; two sons, David (Renee) Pugh of South Bend and Todd (Misty) Swihart of Elkhart; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson; two brothers, Mike (Sharon) Pugh of South Bend and James (Joanne) Pugh of Buchanan, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. One son, Tony Swihart, preceded him in death in 1988, and one sister, Patricia Cowsert. Robert served in the United States Army. He enjoyed tractor pulls and spending time with his family at Lilly Lake. A special thank you to Michiana Hematology & Oncology, to Dr. Bufill, and the 10 South Floor at Memorial Hospital.
