John A. Quinlan

John A. Quinlan, 67, of 1226 N. Brookfield, died at 7:50pm Sunday in St Joseph’s Medical Center after an extended illness.  He was a retired engineer from Bendix Corp. Aviation Division, retiring in1977 after 25 years’ service.

 

He was born July 8, 1915, in Marietta OH, and had lived in South Bend since 1942, coming from Amarillo TX.  On February 1, 1941, in Muenster TX, he married Dorothy Fette, who survives.  Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Kitty Orth of Carmel NY, Mrs. Gail Vogel of Nashville TN and Mrs. Patricia Policinski of Arlington VA; a son, Stephen Quinlan of South Bend; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ed McKeever of Baton Rouge LA.

 

Services will be at 10am Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Rev. Albin Hosinski, C.S.C., officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Tuesday at the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 W. William St.

 

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, a graduate of Texas Technical College of Lubbock TX, and a member of Bendix Management Retirees Club. 

 

A rosary will be recited at 3pm Tuesday by the members of Circle of Mercy, and a second rosary will be recited at 7pm Tuesday by the parish.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Circle of Mercy; the Christ Child Society or to Holy Cross Catholic Church.
