Mary Christina Quinlan

Mary Christina Quinlan, 77, of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 1:50 p.m., Saturday, March 13, in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Quinlan was born on June 29, 1926, in Kingswood, Bristol, England, to Harry and Maude (Brindle) Atherton.

 

She met James P. Quinlan during World War II, and was married on May 9, 1945, in England. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1980. Survivors include three daughters, Sally Quinlan of Florida, Kathy Quinlan of Elkhart, Ind., and Peggy (Larry) Warren of Mishawaka; a son, James P. Quinlan of Mishawaka; six grandchildren, Bobby, Rachel, Jacob, Nicholas, James and Heather; two great-grandchildren, Tyeler and Sydnie; a brother, Frederick (Phyllis) Atherton of Bristol, England. Preceding her in death were two sisters, Ivy Durnell, Phoebe Parfrey, and three brothers, Robert, Jack and Ernest Atherton.

 

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, in St. Jude Catholic Church, 19704 Johnson Road, South Bend, IN 46614. Rev. Derrick Sneyd, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. There will be no visitation. Contributions in memory of Mary Christina Quinlan may be made to the Faith Mission of Elkhart, 530 S. Main St., Elkhart, IN 46516.
