Sister Maria Incarnate Quinlan CSC

Sister Maria Incarnate CSC, died Thursday evening in St. Mary’s Convent after an extended ilklness. She was born Elizabeth Margaret Quinlan in County Cork, Ireland in 1881. Coming from Chicago she entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1909, receiving the habit the same year, and making her final vows in 1915. During her community life she was stationed at St. Mary’s College and Academy; California, Illinois, and New York City. One of her last assignments was first assistant to Mother M. Vincentia CSC, superior general. She also served for severral years as mistress of scholastics. She retired after becoming ill in 1950.

 

Friends may call in St. Mary’s Convent parlor until services. Services will be at 6:30 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, on the campus.
