Clement Radecki: (South Bend Tribune 6/5/1999)


Dec. 5, 1907 - June 3, 1999. Clement “Clem” Radecki, 91, of South Ironwood Road, South Bend, Ind., formerly of Peashway, died at 4:25 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on Dec. 5, 1907, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Radecki retired from Ardmore Poultry after 15 years of service. He was the former owner of Clement’s Grocery on South Michigan Street from 1950-57. Mr. Radecki was a member of the Achievement Forum, St. Casimir Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus Council #553. On July 22, 1929, in South Bend, he married Lucille Nowicki, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Elaine (James) Thompson of  South Bend; two grandchildren, Karen Sue (George) Woolley of Indianapolis, Ind., and Tony (Sheila) Thompson of Louisville, Ky.; Five great-grandchildren, Jeremy, David, Abigail, Andrew and Erin; two sisters, Alice Balint and Leona Jozwiak, both of South Bend; and by a brother, Ted (Micky) Radecki of Niles, Mich. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 1827 E. Ireland Road. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Casimir Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
