Sister Mary Ephrem CSC, 79, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the convent after an extended illness. She was born July 29, 1892 in South Bend, and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, as Stanislava Rajter, on March 25, 1912, and made her profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1914. She was assigned to household duties and served as sacristan and seamstress in hospitals and school in Idaho, Texas, She had resided at St. Mary’s Convent since 1955.

 

Friends may call in the convent parlors, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery at St. Mary’s.

A requiem high mass will be held in the Church of Loretto at St. Mary’s College at 6 a.m. Thursday with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemery on the campus. Friends may call at the convent parlor.
