Ronald E. Ransberger, Sr.

Dec. 8, 1932 - Feb. 21, 2000

Ronald E. Ransberger, Sr., 67 years old, residing on U.S. 12 East in White Pigeon, Mich., passed away on Monday evening, February 21, 2000, at his home from natural causes. Mr. Ransberger was born on December 8,1932, in Mishawaka, Ind., He was a former resident of Osceola, living in Baldwin Lake from 1975-1995, and then moved to White Pigeon where he has been a resident for the past 5 years. On March 24, 1951, in Osceola, he married Suzanne G. Hobbs who preceded in death on March 3, 1998. Also preceding in death were two brothers, Daniel D. and John M. Ransberger.

Mr. Ransberger and his wife were the owners and operators of Union Wholesale for 22 years retiring in 1996. Prior to this, he worked for Pepsi Cola for 23 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia S. Weisweaver of Osceola, and Rebecca (James) Holt of Mishawaka; two sons, Ronald E. Ransberger, Jr. of Cassopolis, Mich., and Steven Ransberger of Middlebury, Ind.; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Robert and Brian Weisweaver, Jamie and Jim Holt, Jr.; four great-grandchildren; his parents, Cleo E. and Maude E. (Garmon) Ransberger of Mishawaka; two brothers, Donald Ray (JoAnn) Ransberger of South bend, and Dennis P. (Sandy) Ransberger of Mishawaka; and one sister-in-law, Joan Ransberger of Mishawaka.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 1109 Lincolnway West, Osceola. Rev. Gene A. Eckerley, pastor of Community Brethren Church in Mishawaka, will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Osceola.

Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 6 P.M. on Sunday at the Palmer Funeral Home, Osceola.
