Edward Ranschaert

December 21, 1878 - January 25, 1949

 

Edward Ranschaert, aged 70, was dead on arrival in Memorial Hospital at 11:30pm Tuesday.  He was taken there in the city ambulance from his home at 128 North Adams Street.  He had been ill for four weeks with a heart ailment.

 

He was born in Westdorpe Holland, December 21, 1878, and came here 37 years ago from that country.  In 1903 in Westdorpe he married Miss Alice M. Pauwels, who survives.  He was employed as a moulder by the Studebaker Corporation.  Surviving are his widow; four sons, Maurice, Urban, August and John, all of South Bend; 10 grandchildren; three brothers, Frederick Ranschaert, Alfons Dhaene and Frank Dhaene, all of South Bend; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Dhoore of South Bend and Mrs. Emma Durein, of Ghent Belgium.

 

Friends may call in the DeVos chapel Mishawaka until funeral services 9am Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Rev. Edmond J. Philippe, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
