Raymond Ranschaert

December 18, 1879 – May 18, 1962

 

Raymond Ranschaert, 82, of 429 S. Wellington St., died at 10pm Friday in ST Joseph’s Hospital.  A baker at the University of Notre Dame for the last twenty years.

 

He was born on December 18, 1879, in Oost-Eecloo, Belgium.  He had lived in South Bend since 1929, coming from Marshall MN. 

 

On September 18, 1909, he married Louise M. Sacy in Belgium.  She survives with a son, Cyril, of South Bend; two daughters Mrs. Andrew Easterling of Buchanan and Mrs. August Schaut of South Bend; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a brother, August, of South Bend, and a sister, Mrs. Leona Schatterman, in Belgium.

 

Friends may call after 6pm today in the Walsh-Bilancio Colonial Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St.  Services will be at 9am Monday in Sacred Heart-Corpus Christi Church, Msgr. Elmer G. Peterson, pastor, officiating.  The rosary will be recited at 8pm today in the funeral home.
