George F. Raymond

Mishawaka - George F. Raymond, 40, of 14399 McKinley Hwy, Penn Twp., died at 12:50 p.m. Friday in the County Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., of injuries suffered late last Tuesday in St. Louis, when a truck side-swiped the car he was driving.

 

Hr. Raymond, who was in the development sales division of the Ball-Band plant was driving a camper sleeping ruck developed at the local plant. He had been employed by the U.S. Rubber Co. for the past 20 years.

 

Mr. Raymond had lived In Mishawaka since 1934 coming here from Sommerville, Mass. Where he was born.

 

Surviving are his parents Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Raymond of Mishawaka; a son Robert R. Raymond and a daughter, Barbara Ann Raymond, both of this city; two brothers, Ross W. Raymond of this city and John Raymond of Sylvania, O.; three sisters, Mrs. M.J. Honold of Mishawaka, Mrs. W.B. McKechnie of Needham. Mass, and Mrs Paul Schalliol of Washington, Ind.

 

Friends may call at the Bubb Funeral Chapel after noon Sunday.

 

Private services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in the Bubb Chapel with Rev. Garfield G. Steedman of the East Methodist Church, officiating.

 

Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

 

Mr. Raymond graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1940 and was a veteran of World War II having served with the Navy four years. He was a member of Mishawaka Post 260\, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Ball Band Foreman’s Club.
