Howard A. Raymond Jr., 87, called "John" by friends and family, passed away on a summer morning, Wednesday, Aug. 15.
Mr. Raymond was born July 1, 1914, in Medford, Mass., to Howard Sr. and Sarah MacKeller Raymond, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ross and George; and by three sisters, Ruth Honold, Eleanor Schalliol and Esther McKechnie.
Mr. Raymond was the owner of Raymond Chemical and Resi Chemical Corporation of Toledo, Ohio. He retired and moved to South Bend in 1984.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; a son, Dennis Lee Raymond of South Bend; three grandchildren, Laurie Caldwell, Michael Raymond and Tony Raymond; and by three great-granddaughters, Rachel and Amanda Raymond, and Coleen Reynolds.
John will be remembered by family and friends for his sharp wit, generous spirit and love of life.
There will be no visitation; cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
