Earl J. Redden Jr.

Earl J. "Pete" Redden Jr., 74, died Thursday, March 7, 2002. He was born on March 30, 1927, in South Bend, Ind., to the late Earl J. "Pete" Redden Sr. and Irene (Diamond) Redden.

 

He was a World War II veteran and went to St. Joseph Academy, Rensselaer, Ind., and the University of Notre Dame. He managed Playland Amusement Park, the Playland Golf Center, stadium parking at Notre Dame, and was co-owner of the Redden Travel Bureau. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Notre Dame, Ind.

 

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Redden, who he married on April 1, 1967; his children, Peter J. (Lisa) Redden of Granger, Ind., Anne Brigid Redden of Chicago, Ill., and Michael L. Redden of London, England; grandchildren, Alexandra and Conor Redden; and by a brother, John J. (Martha) Redden Sr. of South Bend.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9, in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the Notre Dame campus. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, March 8, in the HICKEY Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road. Cremation will take place. Memorials may be made to the Christ Child Society or to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
