Michael T. Redding

Feb. 7, 1944 - Nov. 30, 2002

Michael T. Redding "Paw-Paw" "Redd", age 58, of South Bend, Ind., also resided in Gary, Ind., passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002.

He was born Feb. 7, 1944, to James Redding and Faye Redding. Michael was employed with US Steel Corporation as an electrician and a millwright and retired after 32 years in the spring of 1995.

Preceded in death by precious son, Shawn Deangelo Redding, grandparents Dewitt and Esther Newhouse, brother, Kevin McCall. On Nov. 24, 1984, he wed the former Rosie M. Lark, who survives him in South Bend. Michael was a loving and devoted father to Michael S. Redding of Denver, Colo., and Jenika L. Redding of Merrillville, Ind. A loving "Paw-Paw" to Briana M. Redding of Chicago, Ill., and Jordan T. Gates of Merrillville. He also leaves to cherish his memory three brothers, Torre Redding of Elgin, Ill., DeCarlos Redding of Greenbelt, Md., and Terry Cephus of Washington D.C.; one sister, Santana Robertson of Mitchellville, Md.; "Special Uncle" Craig Bowen of Michigan City, Ind.; and a host of other relatives who will mourn his passing.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at 11 a.m. in Alford's Mortuary. 1222 Napier St., South Bend, Ind. Friends may call Alford's Mortuary (574) 282-2477.
