SOUTH BEND - Lorraine A. Regan, 83, of South Bend, died on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at her home in South Bend. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Queen of All Saints Church in Michigan City. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing will be held today (Sunday) from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Root Funeral Home and on Monday from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. in Queen of All Saints Church.

 

Lorraine was born March 30, 1924, in Michigan City, to the late Louis and Julia (Biever) Kienitz. On November 4, 1972, in Michigan City, she married Walter D. Regan Sr., who died July 26, 2007. Surviving are four children, Walter (Dawn) Regan of Benton Harbor, MI, Michael (Sherrie) Regan of Minneola, FL, Paul (Lisa) Regan of Elkhart, IN, and Grace Regan of South Bend; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Dena Kienitz of Michigan City; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death is a brother, Robert Kienitz.

 

Lorraine retired from the freight line industry after many years of service to them. She was a member of St. Mary Assumption Church and St. Jude's Church in South Bend and their Altar and Rosary Sodality. She was a lifelong animal lover. Memorials may be made to the Pet Refuge.
