Sister Mary Marcellus Regan CSC

Sister Mary Marcellus CSC, died Tuesday afternoon in Saint Mary’s Convent, after an illness of a few weeks. She was born in County Cork, Ireland, in 1879, the daughter of Michael Regan and Mary Mahoney. She entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1901 and received the habit the same year. She made her profession of vows in 1906. During her community life she was stationed at Anderson, Ind.; Baltimore; Alexandria, Va.; and Deming, N.M. She had been stationed at St. Mary’s for many years. Surviving are a sister, Sister Mary Compassion CSC of St. Mary’s; and two nieces, Sister M. Francis Xavier and Sister M. Francis Gabriel.

 

A requiem high mass will be said Thursday morning in the Church of Loretto and burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call in the convent parlor.
