Sister Mary Eustelle Reilly CSC

Sister Mary Eustelle CSC, 91, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, died at 1 a.m. Friday in Saint Mary’s Convent following a prolonged illness. Born Annie M. Reilly in Ireland in 1871, she came to the United States in 1900 where she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross. Receiving the habit that same year. She made her final vows in 1906. She received her nurses education and served principally in St. Mary’s Hospital in Cairo, Ill. She also was assigned to Our Saviour’s Hospital, Jacksonville, Ill.; St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend; Holy Cross Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah; and St. Alphonsus Hospital, Boise, Idaho. Illness brought her retirement in 1954 to St. Mary’s Convent.

 

The requiem high mass will be offered in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Mary’s at 6 a.m. Saturday with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call at the convent parlor.
