Mrs. Stanislaus Reiter: (South Bend Tribune 10/7/1939)


Mrs. Stanislaus Reiter, aged 59, of 504 North Johnson street, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in her home. She had been ill four weeks of pneumonia after an appendectomy. Born in Poland, March 25, 1880, she came to South Bend from that country 58 years ago. Before her marriage held in St. Stanisalus’ Roman Catholic church, she was Miss Marianna Kazmirska. Surviving is her mother, Mrs. Josephine Kazmirska; the husband, Stanislaus Reiter, three daughters, Mrs. Sylvester Bonek, Mrs. Louis Vargo and Miss Clara Reiter; two sons, Stanley and Joseph Reiter; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Klein; three brothers, William L., and John J. Kazmirski, all of South Bend; and Rev. Louis S. Kazmirski, of Youngstown, O. Friends will be received in the home until the time of the funeral which will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Stanislaus’ Roman Catholic church with Father Kazmirski officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Polish cemetery.

The funeral services for Mrs. Stanislaus Reiter, 504 North Johnson street, have been changed  from 10 to 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Stanislaus’ Roman Catholic church, where she was married as the first bride to have a wedding in that church, May 8, 1900. In addition to surviving relatives, there also are six grandchildren.
