Stanislaus Reiter: (South Bend Tribune 12/14/1954)


Stanislaus (Steve) Reiter, 504 N. Johnson St., died at 2:05 a.m. today in his home after an illness of three months. He was born in Otis, Ind., Oct. 29 1873. He came here as a child and lived here the rest of his life. Mr. Reiter was a retired employe of the O’Brien Varnish Corporation for which he worked 31 years. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Martha Bonek, Mrs. Anne Vargo, and Mrs. Clara Szabo; two sons, Stanley Jr., and Joseph, all of South Bend; a sister, Mrs. Martha Miller of Indianapolis, Ind., eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday in the St. Joseph Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Mr. Reiter’s brother-in-law, Very Rev. Msgr. Louis Kazmirski, of St. Casimir’s Parish, Youngstown, O., officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Polish Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home by the St. Ann’s Society of Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Mr. Reiter was a member of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America, Group 234 of St. Stanislaus Parish.
