Merion A. Reynolds

March 8, 1914 - Jan. 14, 2000

Merion Alice Reynolds, 85, residing on Ridgedale Road, South Bend, Ind., died at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 14, in Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

Mrs. Reynolds was born on March 8, 1914, in Mishawaka, Ind., to the late Harleand Nettie (Johnson) Kesler, and had lived in the South Bend/Mishawaka and New Carlisle communities most of her life. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Barlow in 1989; two sisters, Helen Kochos and Ruth McKinney; and by two brothers, Richard Kesler and Dale Kesler. On Aug. 5, 1933, in Swaysee, Ind., as Merion Kesler, she married Edwin T. Reynolds, who passed away on May 20, 1993.

She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (Dave) Collins of Granger, Ind., and Virginia Winters of Tampa, Fla.; a son, Edwin H. Reynolds of Greenfield, Ind.; five grandchildren, Rex Barlow of Denim Spring, La., Gary Barlow of Matairie, La., Carol Collins of Atlanta, Ga., Jim Collins of Fayetteville, Ga., and Angela Recite of Land O' Lakes, Fla.; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Faullkner of Argos, Ind.; and by a brother, Donald Kesler of Logansport, Ind.

Mrs. Reynolds was a member of Ponchatoula United Methodist Church in Ponchatoula, La.

Services were at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Kendall Dahlstrom, pastor of Evangelical Covenant Church, officiated. Visitation was one hour prior to services. Burial was in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
