Mary A. Richards

GRANGER - Mary A. (Did) Richards, 79, of Granger, IN, passed away at 5:45 AM Tuesday, March 11, 2008, in the Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. After graduation from Mishawaka High School she worked for the Oliver Corporation/White Farm Equipment from which she retired. Then she worked part-time at the Madison Center. She was born on March 7, 1929, in Mishawaka, IN, to Clyde and Marguerite (Smith) Landgraf, and was an area lifelong resident with the exception of living three years in New Port Richey, FL.

 

Mrs. Richards is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Paul Ference of Granger; three grandchildren, Kyle Copelin of South Bend, Kristopher Copelin of Mishawaka and Kimberly Copelin of New Port Richey, FL; four great-grandchildren, Justin Willits, Shane Willits, Barry Willits and Cameron Williams; one great-great-grandson, Nevin Wesley Willits; and two sisters, Jeanne Cohee of Mishawaka and Joyce (Allen) Lilves of South Bend. One grandson, Ryan Wesley Riggle, and one sister, Betty Olson, preceded her in death. Mrs. Richards was a member of the American Business Women's Association. She was an avid seamstress and reader, and enjoyed cross-stitch. She bowled for more than 20 years on the Oliver and White Farm teams.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 14, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Davy Troxel, pastor of Grace Brethren Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 PM today (Thursday) in the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Mary A.
