SOUTH BEND - Roy R. Richards, 73, of Spring Hill, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died June 30 at The Arbors, Bayonet Point, Fla.

Mr. Richards retired as a freight truck driver. He was born March 26, 1922, in Niles and lived in South Bend until moving to Florida seven years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Richards of Spring Hill; a son, Edward of Mishawaka; a stepdaughter, Clara Taylor of Niles; three stepsons, Charles Horlander of Salem, Ind., Ronald Horlander of Port Richey, Fla., and William Horlander of South Bend; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and past president of Eagles Aerie 435.

Merritt Funeral Home, Brookville, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
