WALKERTON - Ernest G. "Bud" Ricks, 80, of
Walkerton, IN, passed away after an illness on Sunday, March 30,
2008, in his home. Mr. Ricks was born December 28, 1927, in
Francesville, IN, to Chester and Blanch (Archer) Ricks,
and had lived in the area most of his life.
On June 19, 1967, in Knox, IN, he was
married to the former Nancy Ehrich, who survives. Also
surviving are his children, Sherry Lynn (Chuck) Eaton of
Union Mills, Doug (Nancy) Ricks of Walkerton, Brett Ricks of
Union Mills, Tammy J. Ricks of Walkerton and Marlene (Marshall) Sherland
of Walkerton; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a
brother, Kenneth (Mary) Ricks of Leiters Ford; and a sister,
Betty Daugherty of Sebring, FL. He was preceded in death
by his parents, and sisters, Fernie O'Neill and Evelyn Norris.
Mr. Ricks was a former employee of Conrail, was a U.S. Army
veteran and a member of Walkerton American Legion Post #189.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. CDT in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Burial will be at the New Carlisle Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. CDT and Thursday after 9:00 a.m. until the time of services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the
American Lung Association.
