NORTH LIBERTY - Mrs. Dorothy G. Ridgway,
88, of Crumstown Highway, North Liberty, Ind., passed away after
an extended illness at 11:05 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, in
Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mrs. Ridgway was born on Aug. 6,
1911, in New Holland, Ind., and was a lifelong resident of the
Michiana area. On July 20, 1939, in New Holland, as Dorothy G. Hunt,
she married Homer Ridgway, who preceded her in death on Sept. 15,
1989. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and a
sister. She is survived by her son, Thomas J. Ridgway of North
Liberty; three grandsons, Jeff Ridgway of South Bend, Trent
Ridgway of Lisle, Ill., and Nathan Ridgway of North Liberty; and
by a sister, Bessie Jenneff of Rice Lake, Wis. Mrs.
Ridgway was a homemaker and a member of the Sumption Prairie
United Methodist Church, Keenagers Club, and supported her church
faithfully.
Visitation hours for Mrs. Ridgway will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday March 16, in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 17, in the Sumption Prairie United Methodist Church, with Pastor Charles Ternet officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to services in the church. Burial will take place at Sumption Prairie Cemetery. The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to the Sumption Prairie United Methodist Church, 24535 Roosevelt Road, South Bend, IN 46614. The Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extend heartfelt sympathy to the Ridgway family.
