Esther L. (Dietl) Riggs, 90, of South Bend, Ind., passed away on Monday, June 12, in Littleton, Colo.

Mrs. Riggs was born on July 24, 1909 in Paget, Bermuda to John and Emily Ferreira.

As Esther Ferreira, she married Dr. Ernest L. Dietl, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, J. Arch Riggs. Mrs. Riggs was a member of the Sunnyside Presbyterian Church in South Bend. She enjoyed gardening, golf, music and playing bridge.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandy (John) Morrison of Englewood, Colo.; a son, Ernest L. Dietl, Jr. of Park Forest, Ill.; a stepson, Jack (Judy) Riggs of Washington, D.C.; and by three grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 19, in the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. There will be no visitation. The Forest G. Hay Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Esther Riggs to the Sunnyside Presbyterian Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
