Richard Benson Rininger

Richard Benson Rininger, 84, of 503 W. Maple Ave., North Liberty, Ind., passed away at 5 a.m. Monday, April 7, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Ind., after an extended illness. He was a retired truck driver. He was born Aug. 8, 1918, in Cassopolis, Mich., and lived most of his life in North Liberty. He was married on Aug. 20, 1937, to Verna C. Fritz, she preceded him in death on June 3, 2001. A son, Douglas, also preceded him in death on June 30, 1997. He is survived by a daughter, Holly C. Compton of Granger, Ind.; four sons, Kent of North Liberty, Keith of Walkerton, and Richard D. and Clay, both of South Bend; a sister, Neva Barnes of Fennville, Mich.; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

 

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 12, in the A.M. Manuel Funeral Home, North Liberty. There will be no visitation.
