Sister M. Godelieze CSC, 91, died this morning at St. Mary’s Convent. She was born Helena Maria Ritter in Michigan City in 1873. She was educated at St. Mary’s College. She entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1887; received the habit in 1888; and made her profession of vows in 1893. She taught at St. Mary’s Academy and at St. Joseph Academy for many years. She also taught in Pensylvania, Illinois, California; and Logansport and Valpariso in Indiana. She was an assistant counselor to the superior general from 1931 to 1943. She has been at St. Mary’s Convent since 1943

 

The requiem mass will be offered in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at 5:45 a.m. Friday with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call at the convent parlor today.
