Theophiel Rodts

Theophiel Rodts, 91, of 419 West 10th Street, died Wednesday afternoon in St. Joseph Hospital, where he had been admitted four-days earlier. He was a retired farmer. He was born on Sept. 26, 1887 in Ruyssiede, Belgium, and had lived in this area since 1905, after coming from Belgium.

 

In 1911 he married Erma Jannens, and she died in 1924. In 1927 he married Sidonie Mattens, and she died in 1929. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Nierynck of South Bend; three sons, Alfred J. of Bremen, and August and Homer Rodts, both of Mishawaka; a step-son, Sidney Mattens of Orlando, Fla.; 12 grandchildreb and nine great-grandchildren.

 

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery.
