Betty A. Roe, 80, of Patterson Drive,
South Bend, Ind., passed away at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, in
Hospice House of St. Joseph County. Betty was born in Wawaka,
Ind., on Sept. 20, 1922. She was a 1940 graduate of Wawaka High
School, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. #360. She
retired in 1987 from Sears after 18 years of service as a sales
person and office worker.
As Betty A. Magnuson, she married
Earl E. Roe in Wawaka on Aug. 23, 1941. He passed away on May 1,
2002. She is survived by two sons, Randy G. (Deborah) Roe of
North Liberty, Ind., and Ronald T. Roe of South Bend; and one
daughter, Gail E. (Kregg) Bailey of Elkhart, Ind.; three
grandchildren, Michele (Steven) Kastner of South Bend,
Erin G. Roe of Ames, Iowa., and Shane A. (Cara) Roe of South
Bend; two great-grandchildren, Braden Kastner and Ryan Kastner,
both of South Bend. Also surviving is one sister, Maxine Zimmerman
of Ferndale, Mich.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, Ind., where friends may call from 1 p.m. Saturday until service time at 4 p.m. Saturday. Pastor Gregg Crump will officiate. Entombment will be at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Memorials may be made to Hospice House of St. Joseph County.
