FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- David C. Roose, 90, of Fort Wayne, formerly of South Bend, died at 8:52 p.m. Friday (March 9, 2007) at Lutheran Hospital. He was born Sept. 14, 1916, in Niles, Mich., to Claude and Nora (Wise) Roose.

 

He married Martha Miller. She survives, along with one daughter, Martha Lou (Rev. Jack) Cary of Osceola; two sons, Richard (Barbara) of Scottsdale, Ariz., and David (Gloria) of Peoria, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous stepchildren, stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Bernice Quimby of Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucile who died in 1987.

 

Friends may call two hours prior to the 7 p.m. Tuesday funeral service at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home, 1109 Lincoln Way W., Osceola. Pastor Don Carroll will officiate and a private burial will take place at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend.

 

Mr. Roose was a laborer at Simons Bros/Clark Wholesale Foods, a member of the Osceola Church of the Brethren, and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving during World War II. Memorials may be given to Osceola Church of the Brethren.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home, where friends may call two hours before services.
