Florence Rospopo

Florence Rospopo, 91, formerly of Sixth Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 1:08 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, in Countryside Place, Mishawaka.

 

Florence was born on Jan. 16, 1908, in Mishawaka, to the late George and Florence (Waletzko) Eberlein.

 

On Jan. 11, 1933, in St. Monica Church, Mishawaka, Florence married John Rospopo, who preceded her in death on April 14, 1975. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Sylvester, Bernard and Rupert Eberlein.

 

Florence was a member of St. Joseph Church, Mishawaka, the St. Joseph Rosary Society, Uniroyal retirees, and Harvest House of Mishawaka.

 

She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn (Gary) Weldy of South Bend, Ind.; three sons, Richard (Dixie) Rospopo and Raymond (Ann) Rospopo, both of South Bend, and James (Pamela) Rospopo of Argos, Ind.; 13 grandchildren, Tom (Michelle) Rospopo, James Rospopo, Debra (Jeff) Cossey, Cheryl Klota, Cindy (Terrence) Vukovits, Patty (Nick) Molchan, Angie McCullough, Diane (Ron) Dhaeze, John (Melinda) Weldy, Richard (Christy) Rospopo, James (Shari) Weldy, Justin Rospopo and Chantelle Rospopo; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ermelinda Eberlein; and by two brothers, Robert Eberlein of Mishawaka and Lawrence Eberlein of McAllen, Texas.

 

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be said at 4:30 p.m.

 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 14, in St. Joseph Church, with Fr. Robert A. Yast officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
