LAKEVILLE - Freda M. Ross, 93, of Lakeville, passed away at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, in the Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, Walkerton, IN. Mrs. Ross was born on March 4, 1914, in Walkerton, to the late Lloyd and Dora (Freed) Knowlton. She had remained a lifelong area resident.

On October 10, 1931, in North Liberty, she married Gearld Ross, who preceded her in death on July 13, 1980. Mrs. Ross was also preceded in death by one son, Lamar J. Ross in June 2006; two grandsons, Kerry Ross and Brian Coleman; two daughters-in-law, Carolyn Ross and Ann Ross; a sister, Writhe Hostetler; and four brothers, Howard, Harold, Russ and Dean Knowlton. Mrs. Ross was a homemaker. She and her husband enjoyed operating a booth at the Farmers Market for over 60 years. Mrs. Ross was a faithful member of the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, North Liberty. Mrs. Ross is survived by one daughter, Kay E. (Franklin) Albert of South Bend; three sons, Gene E. Ross of South Bend, Larry J. Ross of South Bend and LeRoy E. (Kathryn) Ross of North Liberty; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Ross of Land O' Lakes, FL; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret DeMeyer of Walkerton; and a brother, Kenneth (Sarah) Knowlton of West Virginia.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, in Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, North Liberty. Rev. Robert Pfeiffer will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Fair Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville, and one hour prior to services in the church on Wednesday.
