Jerry Kent Ross

SOUTH BEND - Jerry Kent Ross, 75, of South Bend, passed away Friday, May 18, 2007, in his home. He was born August 31, 1931, in Sidney, IN, to Oren Vern and Vera L. (Carlin) Ross.

 

He was married to Joan L. (Senff) Ross, who preceded him in death on July 19, 1973, and to Carolyn L. (Judd) Ross, who preceded him on July 12, 1999. He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth M. (Sean) Kent of Newport News, VA, and Mary S. (David) Tuttle of South Bend; six grandchildren, Ross J. Tuttle, Katharine "Katie" J. Tuttle, Connor R. Price, Cameron J. Price, Melissa A. Kent and Elizabeth L. Kent. One brother, Charles Jackson "Jack" Ross, preceded him in death.

 

Mr. Ross was employed by the Torrington Corporation for 22 years prior to the company moving from the city. He was then employed by the City of Niles in the capacity of finance officer for the Utilities Division from which he retired in March 1998. He was a 1959 graduate of Manchester College where he earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He participated in continuing education classes at Indiana University and Notre Dame. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, South Bend, Alexis Coquillard Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution, Warsaw Masonic Lodge #73 F&AM, and Pioneer Families of Kosciusko County. Mr. Ross retired from the United States Naval Reserves.

 

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, May 25, 2007, in the chapel of St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, where burial will take place. Rev. David Morrow will officiate. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, is assisting the family with arrangements. Contributions in memory of Jerry K.
