PHYSICIAN DIES OF LONG ILLNESS

Dr. J. K. Ross, Age 85, Had Lived in City for 20 Years

Dr. J. K. Ross, age 85, practicing

physician since 1867 and resident of

Mishawaka 20 years, died in his

residence at 608 East Grove Street

Monday night at 11:25 o’clock.

Dr. Ross had been in failing health for

several years.

 

He was born in Adams county,

Indiana Jan. 1, 1846 and came to

this city from South Milford, Ind.

He was married to Miss Mary Du-

forur 65 years ago.  She died in

1898.  He then married his present

Wife.

 

In addition to his wife two sons

and one daughter survive; they are

Albert A. Ross, South Bend, Edgar

M. Ross, LaPorte, Ind. and Mrs.

Lew Brown of Elkhart, Ind.  A

sister Mrs. Charles Neilson , lives in

Ukiah, Calif.

 

The body may be viewed in the

residence until the hour of the funeral,

which will be held Wednesday afternoon

at 2 o’clock in the Sprague funeral chapel.

Burial will be made in Fairview Cemetery.

SERVICED HELD

FOR DR. ROSS

 

Last rites for Dr. J. K. Ross, well

known physician, who died in his

residence at 608 East Grove Street

Monday night, were conducted in

the Sprague funeral chapel this

afternoon at 2 o’clock.  Rev.

A. C. Husten , of Knox, Ind.,

officiated, and burial took place

in Fairview cemetery.
