SOUTH BEND - Maudine Ross, 72, of 721
W. Jefferson Blvd., died of natural causes at 5 p.m. Monday in
Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Ross was a former employee of Sherman
Cleaners. She was born Feb. 26, 1923, in Macon, Miss., and had
lived in South Bend since 1945.
On Jan. 21, 1962, in South Bend, she married
Ellis Ross. He died Aug. 15, 1972. She is survived by three
sisters, Georgianna Jamison and Hattie Chambliss,
both of South Bend, and Aretha Haire of St. Louis; and a
brother, Edward Showers of South Bend. She was a member of
Grace AME Zion Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the
church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call one
hour before services on Saturday in the church. Clark's Funeral
Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
