Patricia A. Roth, 77, of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away Saturday evening, June 12, in Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation, South Bend, Ind. She was born June 4, 1927, in Mishawaka, the daughter of Frederick and Eathel (Phillips) Roth.

 

Pat grew up in Mishawaka and graduated from St. Joseph Academy in South Bend. Within a few years she went to work at the University of Notre Dame were she spent most of her career as a secretary to Rev. Edmund P. Joyce, C.S.C. Pat continued her dedication to Father Joyce throughout his illness and death. She retired in 2003 after more than 50 years of service to Notre Dame where she was well-loved by all. A lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka, Pat's faith was the center of her life. She enjoyed traveling, reading, flower gardening, animals and birds. Pat was a humble person whose quiet and caring way will be missed by all who knew her. Her surviving family includes several cousins and many friends, both here and throughout the country.

 

She was preceded in death by her father in 1928 and by her mother in 1990.

 

Friends may call today from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Thallemer, Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. Third St., Mishawaka. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon today in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill St., Mishawaka, with Rev. Fr. Robert Yast officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Mishawaka.
