Sister M. Flora Rubly CSC, 91, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 1:15 a.m. today in the convent. She was born April 22, 1891 in Chicago as Florence Ida Rubly. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on July 2, 1922; was received as a novice Jan. 6, 1923; and professed her vows on Aug. 15, 1925. She was assigned to accounting, serving at St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend from 1930 to 1938; St. Mary’s Academy, South Bend, from 1969 to 1972; and as supervisor of plant and maintenance at Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent from 1972 to 1983.

 

Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Church of Loretto at St. Mary’s, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, on the campus. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday in the convent parlors where a wake will be at 7 p.m.
